About the Role

Provided strategic direction in the planning, design, and development of BroadWorks content.

Requirements

  • BroadSoft, a VoIP company, released a new version of their product BroadWorks annually.

  • Product content was required to support Service Providers, Users, Administrators, Operators and Maintenance Technicians to efficiently upgrade and use their system.


Content Specifics

  • Analyzed 75 Feature Specifications across five Product Teams for over ten years.

  • Mapped feature requirements to existing documents and Help systems. Identified new deliverables as required.

  • Created style guidelines for content developers and UX designers.

  • Designed project planning schedule.

  • Provided point-contact for Stakeholders.

  • Managed content development delivery with authors and. negotiated issues as they emerged with product teams.

  • Created plan to transition document based documentation to DITA_based CMS repository. Outputs included:

    • Mini-TOC's, and PDF styles

    • Topic templates for specific information types

    • Worksheets to track topic structure
